Our friends at the Iowa Environmental Council are holding their annual conference in October. It is usually an engaging event and I want to encourage you to attend if you can. One of our farmer partners, Kelly Tobin, will be featured in a panel discussion at the conference. I have attached information on the conference for those of you who are interested.
FINDING IOWA’S WAY: ECONOMIC SOLUTIONS FOR A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT
October 4, 2012, beginning at 8:30 at the Scottish Rite Consistory, 519 Park Street, Des Moines
The Iowa Environmental Council will host Hunter Lovins, a global leader in sustainable business consulting, at its annual conference, Finding Iowa’s Way: Economic Solutions for a Healthier Environment, to be held October 4 in Des Moines. Throughout the day, we’ll explore stories of how good environmental stewardship is strengthening Iowa businesses, communities, and the environment. Lovins will explore how businesses are gaining a competitive edge by taking on climate change, and members of Iowa’s business community will share their own experiences working toward sustainability. In the afternoon, speakers will explore economically successful strategies for a healthier Iowa landscape. Registration includes lunch and great networking opportunities.
