The cooling of the weather and the falling of the leaves will not stop the Iowa Learning Farms team from continuing to promote and encourage conservation practices in Iowa through field day. Late fall is the best time to get out in the fields to view strip-till and cover crops. We are really pleased to offer four upcoming field days:
Oct 23, 10:30 am-1:00 pm Strip-till Field Day, Robert Lynch farm, 809 Southeast D Ave, Gilmore City

Directions: Just east of Gilmore City on Hwy 3, turn south onto Birch Ave. and go 1/4 mile, turn west onto Southeast D Ave. The farm site is 1/2 mile from Birch Ave. on the north side of the road.
Practical Farmers of Iowa, Iowa Learning Farms and Iowa State University Extension are hosting a series of fall cover crop field days in the end of October. The focus of these field day will be on cover crops, and an opportunity for farmers to discuss drought considerations for the upcoming 2013 season. Each field day will include a complimentary lunch at noon.

Directions: 2 miles west of Emerson on highway 34 turn north on 390th street. Go 3 miles to Gaston Avenue. Turn left and go 1/4 mile west to farm.
