Packed House at Cover Crop Conference in Altoona

There is no doubt that cover crops are gaining in popularity across the state. While Iowa currently has some 80,000 acres planted in cover crops, we know that is still a small percentage relative to how many acres are tilled and left unprotected for the winter.  However, enthusiasm and interest are on the rise across the state which is a trend in the right direction.

Cover Crops: Practical Strategies for Your Farm was held in Altoona, Iowa on December 13th and 14th and there were very few empty seats. With attendance exceeding 300, it was a great opportunity to learn, discuss and network all things cover crops.
